Public Policy Case Competition 2017

Challenging ideas. Bold solutions. National impact.

Since its inception in 2014, our case competition has been the only one of its kind in Australia, allowing university students from all years and all degrees to engage with public policy. Whether you have a passion for public policy, or are interested in trying something new, ESSA’s Public Policy Case Competition is designed with accessibility in mind. No prior knowledge is assumed, and applicants are provided enough resources to start building their case. Truly a national competition, interstate finalists will be given the opportunity to fly to Melbourne to present their case to a range of experts from public policy and consulting professions. Thanks to the generosity and support of our sponsors, we are also proud to announce a cash prize of $1000 for the winning team, as well as a $250 prize for the best first year team award. Winners will also receive mentoring from the Victorian Government’s Department of Treasury and Finance and gain first hand experience in seeing the practical applications of public policy advising. We encourage you all to register a team of 3-4, or as an individual or pair to be matched with a group, to develop your skills and engage with public policy beyond the classroom.
