We are proud to announce that ESSA’s national Public Policy Case Competition will be coming back for its fifth year in 2018.
If you are highly passionate about Australian politics or looking to gain policy experience, then the Public Policy Case Competition is for you. The competition is designed with accessibility in mind, while still giving participants the flexibility to propose in-depth solutions to one of Australia’s most pressing issues. No prior knowledge is assumed, and participants will be provided with resources to start building their policy response.
Interstate finalists will be provided with the opportunity to present at the University of Melbourne finals to a panel of experts from policy and consulting backgrounds, with associated costs such as airfare and accommodation while in Melbourne covered by the Economics Students Society of Australia.
The overall winners will receive a cash prize of $1,000 and one-on-one mentoring with the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance, and gain first hand experience and be able to see the practical applications of public policy.
The best-performing first-year team will receive the Department of Treasury and Finance First Year’s Prize, which will consist of $250.
